Royal School, Wolverhampton
The Royal School, Wolverhampton was founded in 1850 and was originally opened as an orphanage.
Bonsers were engaged to carry out a full facade condition survey of the school and produce reports with recommendations of works to be carried out along with time scales and budgets.
This was then developed into a competitive tender process which Bonsers were successful in securing with a contract sum of £3,000,000.00 over a contract period of 64 weeks. The works consisted of the following:
·Overhaul and repair of roof coverings and structural elements
·Repointing and brick replacements to elevations
·Repair and rebuilding of chimneys
·Gutter replacement
·Window repairs and replacements
·Stone repairs
·Replacement of Library lantern
·External staircase repairs
·Cleaning elevations
·Restoration of feature fountain
·Structural lintel repairs
